FA Women's Premier League Fixtures Released

The fixtures were released this week for the FA Women's Premier League, revealing Bradford City Women's games for the season ahead.

The 2015-16 campaign will begin on Sunday 16 August, and the Bantams will kick it off with a trip to face Sporting Club Albion, where they were victorious in the league last year but defeated in the cup.

Their first home game will then take place the following week, with Nottingham Forest the visitors in a fixture that produced five goals at the end of the 2014-15 season, the scoreline reading 4-1 in City's favour.

Following Sheffield FC's promotion to WSL 2, Bradford City will now face just two local rivals this year in Guiseley Vixens and Huddersfield Town. Both games against the former will be midweek evening kick-offs, the home fixture taking place on Wednesday 9 September and the reverse scheduled to be played just two weeks later on Wednesday 23 September.

City's encounters with Huddersfield will be played on Sunday 8 November at home and Sunday 21 February away, with the latter down to be the final game of the season, albeit this being without cup fixtures brought into each team's schedules and not taking into account likely postponements when winter kicks in.

The season's Christmas break will commence following a round of fixtures on Sunday 20 December, when City make the trip to face newly-promoted side Nuneaton Town, and league action will then resume just under a month later on Sunday 17 January, with the Bantams returning to action by welcoming Blackburn Rovers.

As well as Nuneaton, City will face another new side this year in Loughborough Foxes, with their meetings scheduled for Sunday 27 September (away) and Sunday 6 December (home).

The Bantams will hope to prolong their season with cup fixtures on top of their league games too. This season, they will look to defend their County Cup title, whilst aiming for a similarly successful FA Cup campaign as that which saw them achieve their best ever run to the fourth round in 2014-15, where they lost only to WSL 2 side Doncaster Belles.

City will also hope to add more League Cup games to their calendar this year too after an early exit last season.
