Defence Wars - Return of the Mac

Van Solo and NKP-3PO sound like they would fit right in on the cast of Star Wars. I mean bloody hell, Vincelot would probably end up being the best actor they've ever worked with.

With recent news that Roba Mac is fighting fit and chomping at the bit what does the Scottish Yoda himself do. 'Yoda' think that Rory would drop straight back into that defence but with Van Solo's form pulling the strings from the back it's going to take more than a light sabre for Roba Mac to get back in.

But that's not the only headache our Yoda will have. Young Anakin Devine has just signed a new deal and will be desperate to get back in that midfield alongside Ewok Cullen. Droidieng though will not budge without a fight and has shown in recent weeks his value on that holding midfield spot. Then we have our very own Chewy in big Colin Doyle who's player of the month nominee was testament to his fine displays in the sticks. No more mentions of a £1 signing, instead well deserved praise.

Then we have Obi Ste KeDarby, stalwart for the past 4 years now and playing so well not even a mention of the injured McMahon Trooper who had a flying start to the season.

Right, that is it, I give up with crappy Star Wars references - I'm out of characters. BUT I will finish on one - our very own Luke Skywalker this season; Billy Clarke. Weidling his feet up the top of the park has been a welcome change and much needed improvement in form under McCall. This new style of play has suited him better than anyone else and the small intricate passes around the box have been an absolute breath of fresh air.

May the force be with you...
